Dwayne Amos,

Personal
Born and raised in the small community of Rabbittown, AL. Dwayne is a resident of Centre, Alabama. He is married to Jenni Howell Amos and they have two children, Maggie and Jack.
Professional
Dwayne began his professional career in the U.S. Army. He served four years in active duty and is a Desert Shield/Desert Storm Veteran.
Dwayne earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Jacksonville State University. In 1997, Dwayne was hired by the Alabama Department of Public Safety as a State Trooper.
In 2003, he was appointed a Trooper Agent with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation where he worked cases ranging from capital murder to white collar crimes. Dwayne was elected
to the position of Circuit Clerk in 2007.
Duties of Circuit Cerk
- To sign and issue all summons, subpoenas, writs, and other processes.
- To maintain all court records.
- To monitor compliance with court orders.
- To assist in the planning and scheduling of court dockets.
- To act as magistrate for issuance of all felony and misdemeanor warrants.
- To receive and distribute all money coming into the courts.
- To manage the jury.
- To take sworn statements.
- To act as one of the election officials.
- To act as absentee election manager.
- To issue passports.
